The Surace-Smith Agencies is an independent contractor of American Income Life Insurance Company, offering American Income Life insurance and career opportunities.  Surace-Smith Agency, sometimes referred to as AIL Ohio, maintains an agency force that services the people and communities of Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo, Dayton, Cincinnati and the surrounding suburbs.

Surace-Smith is an organization of highly ‘Labor’ motivated union agents, managers, staff, and public relations representatives that are part of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) Local 277 and have represented American Income Life in Ohio for over 25 years. American Income Life is a 100% Union Label Insurance Company and an integral friend and supporter of Labor in America. Through advice of their Labor Advisory Board which consists of over 50 International Union Presidents, American Income Life donates millions of dollars each year to support labor unions and has stood shoulder to shoulder with working people in America since 1951.

The Surace-Smith Agencies has constantly and consistently contributed time, money, and staff for the good of working people through many area labor projects, labor scholarships and community events as well as National Labor concerns and undertakings. In addition, it has created and administers food banks that work closely with Ohio Labor Agencies and Community Services.
