American Income Life MGA Dan Hartwig

“Trust God, Work Hard, Don’t Quit!” As a Managing Director of the Surace-Smith Agencies of American Income Life, Dan Hartwig established himself early on in his life through the upbringing of his family. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, the son of value-based and entrepreneurial parents, Dan quickly learned that “good is never really good enough if better is possible.”

Dan graduated from the University of Dayton in 3 years with a Finance degree and quickly moved into a position of responsibility. Traveling all across the United States as well as overseas, Dan developed strong business and communication skills working for a Business Risk Consulting/Internal Audit firm. Experienced in industries such as Communications, Financial Services, Utilities/Energy, and Pharmaceuticals, Dan quickly grasped the thirst for more knowledge and opportunity.

In September of 2008, Dan started with American Income Life upon hearing of the opportunity that would make dreams become reality. By December of 2008, he moved into a Supervising Agent role where he actively managed and trained the Surace-Smith way. Becoming one of the most consistent and top-producers in Ohio, Dan moved into the General Agent position thereafter. By October of 2009, Dan became the Managing Director of the Toledo Operations, overseeing a population size of 1.2 million and the development of a brand new office.
