American Income Life SGA Jim Surace

'To Serve, not Sell' best describes Jim Surace, Senior State General Agent of the Surace-Smith Agencies and American Income Life. For more than 25 years, he (with much involvement from his wife Nancy) has lead an organization of top 'Labor' union agents, managers, staff and public relations representatives for American Income Life in Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo. American Income Life is the only 100% Union Label Insurance Company in the country.

Jim has held a position on the Executive Leadership Council of AIL/Torchmark Corporation since its inception. This Council gives leadership to the growth and development of American Income Life. In 2007, under his leadership, Surace-Smith Agencies hit a record $5.6 million dollars in annualized life premium. This solidified the Surace-Smith Agencies as the #1 agency in the World based on average annualized life premium per agent.

Jim Surace has made public service a big part of the Surace-Smith Agencies—contributing time, money, and volunteers to a number of labor projects, scholarships, and community events. In addition, he helped create and administer food banks that work hand and hand with the Northeast Ohio Labor Agencies and Community Services. The Surace-Smith Agencies have also distributed thousands of ChildSafe ID Kits at their own cost.

Jim Surace, a philanthropist, is involved in many charitable Community and Christian projects here in Ohio and around the world. While building the Surace-Smith Agency in Ohio, Jim volunteered thousands of hours as a Youth Minister in his local church as well as countless hours in leadership of many area Christian outreach projects.

Jim & his wife Nancy are life long residents of North East Ohio, have two children Steven & Jamie and 4 grandchildren.  They have recently celebrated their 29th Anniversary.
