American Income Life SGA Marcus Smith

Marcus Smith worked his way from American Income Life (AIL) agent to State General Agent and parter at the Surace-Smith agency in 5 years.

There is a saying, “he’s a born salesman”, and another, “some people are leaders, others followers.” Both of these quotes can best describe Marcus Smith. As co-Senior State General Agent of the Surace-Smith Agencies of American Income Life, Marcus Smith proved worthy of both from the day he was first licensed, September 11, 2001. It was only nine days later that he had made his first of many $1,000 (Annualized Life Premium) sales.

By October, he was moved up to a Supervising Agent, then one month later he was promoted to the General Agent position. In June 2002 Marcus became a Managing General Agent and never looked back. Then, in May 2004 he was named Regional General Agent with the major responsibility of promoting key, pivotal leaders. A large part of the success of the Surace-Smith Agencies of American Income Life has been due in fact to the management and sales leadership put in place by Marcus Smith. The ultimate compliment of his achievement came in January 2006 when he was named State General Agent and became a State General Agent with Jim Surace. He was also named to the Executive Council of American Income Life in 2008.

Marcus has a beautiful daughter named Adriana. When he is not working, he enjoys cars, playing and watching sports, especially basketball and football, and reading.
